Building Blocks Calcium is formulated as calcium citrate with Vitamin D and Magnesium included in the supplement for optimal calcium absorption. Calcium deficiencies occur with gastric bypass because the main area of the gut responsible for calcium absorption is bypassed by the surgery. Deficiencies also occur because the small gastric pouch no longer produces sufficient amounts of stomach acid required for optimal calcium absorption. Because of negligible production of gastric acid, calcium citrate, rather than calcium carbonate, is required for optimal absorption.

good products and decent...
I have been taking these vitamins since 2007, a few weeks after my gastric bypass surgery. This keeps my bloodwork on track for the most part. I have to occasionally take an additional supplement of b vitamins, Se-tan and Vitamin D. Overall, I feel secure with these vitamins and have had no major problems with my health. I do get my blood checked regularly and that always catches any issue before it effects my health. So, I recommend these vitamins for anyone who has had a gastric bypass.

Hello, I am very happy with the products I have bought, the Multiple vitamins, the patients have done very well. On this last order I was surprised at how quickly it arrived. If I would like to know why they brought out the B12 vitamins in a spray, the patients liked that format instead of taking it in pills.
